SCHEDULED: IAX Migration (Monday 13th May 2013, 12:00 - 23:59 (BST))
Services Affected:
VoIP
Overview:
As part of our ongoing investment into our infrastructure we have developed and built a new IAX platform that provides additional capacity and increased resilience throughout the network.
Impact:
We have recently migrated outbound IAX services to route over the new platform, and the next stage will be to introduce inbound IAX.
This move will complete on 13/05/2013. In preparation, we would like to remind customers who firewall inbound connections to their PBX servers, that they will need to update their firewall rules to allow our new servers. A full list of IP ranges used by the SBT platforms can be found here: https://support.scotbbtel.co.uk/entries/23135131-What-IP-addresses-may-SBT-send-VoIP-traffic-from-. We advise customers to restart their PBX after the scheduled maintenance has taken place, to ensure they pick up the new DNS records.
in preparation for the move we would ask that all customers using either direct IP addresses or legacy hostnames ensure their PBXs are configured to iax.trunk.scotbbtel.co.uk, unless you are a partner, in which case we will manage the DNS change at our end.
If you have any questions regarding this migration, please contact our customer services team on voip.support@scotbbtel.co.uk or 01225800888.
SBT Action:
SBT will manage DNS configuration to ensure the transition is as smooth as possible. As mentioned above, we ask customers to ensure that they are pointing to iax.trunk.scotbbtel.co.uk (with the exception of Partners) and to ensure any firewall rules are amended.
